This painting was made for the exhibition 'Daffodils' - Artists Reflections on Wordsworth's Poem.   The exhibition, which was curated in 2005 by Charles mitchell for Cumbria Institute of the Arts, first toured Cumbria before travelling to Bourne Hall in Surrey and Aartworks, Grayton, South Africa.

My collection of novels has built up slowly through years of occasional purchases from second-hand book shops.  There's something very attractive about a book which is older and well-thumbed - as though time and experience has added to its character.
